Cooked Cheese Spaetzle
A spaetzle is often served as a side dish with a sauce.
| Ingredients: | 500 Grams of flour |
| 5 Eggs | |
| 175ml(about a third of a pint) of water | |
| Cheese | |
| 1 small Onion | |
| Salt to season |
- Mix the ingredients in a mixer, adding just enough water so an elastic dough forms
- Boil a large pot of salted water
- With a grater, grate the elastic dough into the hot water
- When the dough pieces are cooked they will rise to the top, remove them at this point with a spoon.
- Place the cooked spaetzles into a shallow dish and cover with grated cheese
- Saute some onions in beer, then fry thin in a small amount of oil
- Place the fried onions over the cooked cheese spaetzles
