Red Lobster Recipes

Red Lobsters are considered a delicacy al over the world. They are part of the anthropod family and are characterised by their red colour and their tough exoskeleton shell. This exoskeleton shell is not permanent and lobsters molt, growing new shells from time to time.In the past lobster was very expensive, however I have found that it can be purchased for reasonable prices if you shop around. If you are planning on having a dinner party, red lobster recipes are an ideal way to show off your cooking skills.

Lobsters are in season from March to October. When cooked, lobsters should have a bright red colour and feel quite heavy with their tales curled under their body. Although the female red lobster is more sought after, the male is preferable for cooking as the flesh is firmer. A lobster that weights between 500g - 750g (1 ib to 1 lb 8oz) should serve 2 people. To cook a lobster, it should be boiled (in the shell) for 5 minutes per 500g (1 lb).
