Tasty Braised Chops

like this recipe when served with new potatoes, and butter on top ( not a healthy option, but tasty). It should serve around 4 people.

Ingredients:
4 pork chops, each around 200g/7oz
2 tablespoons of flour
1 level teaspoon salt
40g/1.5 oz butter
1 large chopped onion
4 potatoes, sliced.
2 large chopped celery stalks
250g/8oz skinned chopped tomatoes
2 level teaspoons of sugar
1 teaspoon Worcester shire sauce (if you can get it)
  • add some salt and pepper to the flour, then toss the pork shops in the mixture.
  • fry the pork in some of the butter until crisp and golden on both sides, transfer to a plate when finished
  • Fry the chopped onion in the remainder of the butter until it is golden brown
  • Cover the base of a shallow heat proof dish with the potato slices
  • Mix the celery, tomatoes, sugar and worcester shire sauce together and pour over potatoes
  • arrange the pork chops on top
  • Cover with a lid or aluminum foil
  • bake in a oven (350°F/180°C or Gas mark 4) for 1 and 1/4 hours
